If you don't understand the preceeding post, don't worry, you're not alone.
I'm going to give you the chance to go deep. Waaay deep and find out what the fuck I was talking about.
Emails to the EAS follow:
Hey Team, I was trolling toowoomba discount stores (as one does) for cheapy toys that make noise, when I hit the jackpot. Not that I knew at the time, this thing was so cheap that didn't even include batteries with it. Anyway.
I found this toy that looks like a fluro orange / lavander CD player thing with buttons on the front. Add batteries... Instant Aphex Twin gig in your bedroom. Dunno if anyone's heard of circuit bending (http://www.oddmusic.com/illogic/ is a good place to start learning about it), but I was thinking along those lines.. Plug it into a 1/4" jack and I managed to get some ok sounding stuff out of it.

Once I manage to attack it with some different resistors, capacitors and a soldering iron I'm hoping to get some crazyassed stuff out of it.
Aaaanyway. Point is that it cost $2, so if anyone wants me to grab one for them to add to their sonic arsenal, you know where to find me.
Love.Jaymis
Aaaaand another one:
Hokay, well it's been a couple of hours and I've had a little time to experiment, so I would like to invite the EAS to witness my inaugral performance in Toy Blippy Cd Player Thing.

At the moment I'm just using little rubber conducting pads to control it, so I don't have much accuracy, I'm thinking of wiring in some contact pads so I have a little more rhythmic accuracy.
Oh, I've been using myself as a resistor too. So there's a couple more samples: http://www.jaymis.com/thealt/toySoundFrequency.mp3

More to come, I'm sure.
