So much Music, so little time:

(a.k.a. the River Trivia Hour)

Just got back from a little soiree at the lovely Rowland's place to find a plaintive cry for "Any suggestions for the weekend" from Wallace, FLGOFF Benson.

Yes.

Now I could link you to the Timeoff website (which is finally back online, so I can answer this type of question again), but there's a bit of crap on that, so I've sifted through to bring out the sparkling, polished gems:

Tomorrow night (27th) LTJ Bukem (Producer/DJ/Miester, who happarently features the lovely River from Taxi on some of his recent gear) at Family. Yeah.

Friday: The Devoted Few (nice, acoustic-y, vocals, stuff), and Speedstar @ Ric's (free! yay!). Not sure if I'll make this one, as Jum is doing a roast I believe.

Saturday 29th: The Informants (very laid back, groovy, funky deal. Guaranteed to get Rowland and Jaymis dancing) at Ric's (free, whoo. etc.)

Sunday 30th: Side-project night - Elixir (Katie and Nick from george and River from Taxi) and Palimpseste (Tyrone pretending to be Jeff Buckley, but hey, we like Jeff Buckley) at the Zoo.

Monday 1st (happy tax refund day): the mysterious Brispop Showcase at Ric's. I'm not sure what this is, but if it's Brispop then I'm interested.

Tuesday and Wednesday nights off (yay)

Thursday 4th: Gorgonzola (aaaaawesome site intro!! and get the track "Hey DJ" as well... Mmmmm, smells like funky) + Das Rumpus (more funky) @ Empire.

Friday 5th: I can't believe that I've been soooo addicted to the General Electric over the past week and yet I'm not going to see Pacifier play at the Waterloo, but I've heard that they've got their suckage on since they've changed their name, and I'm not going to miss Stringmansassy again (more River trivia - this is who he was playing when Taxi took a little year-and-a-bit long break) and risk having Danny never talk to me, ever.

Saturday 6th: The Avalanches (this site is fucking evil) DJ show @ Arena. I've missed Dexter more times than I have fingers now, so I'm not sure if it's going to really matter if I miss him again, and I'd really prefer to see them in band mode anyway, but if I have some spare money and time I might just make it. If I don't Rhubarb, Diana Ah Naid (who rocked out when I saw her support the Whitlams in 2000) and Tonjip (pronounced Tun-jip) will look after me at the Zoo.

Couple of days off to try and get a little sleep and a little money in time for:

12th: Full Fathom Five (Amazingly good band. Two people in the last fortnight have proposed to me on the strength of these guys as a recommendation), Every Man and his Llama (funky, funky, funky), Pty Ltd (more funky) and more miesters of music in a free Valley Mall thingo. Nice.

and then it's FIESTA TIME BAYBEE!

13th: Valley Fiesta - Endorphin, The Informants and others in the Valley Mall. Afro Dizzi Act (WHOO!) @ Ric's. Loads of Dub at the Zoo, and much in the way of hippy firetwirling, food, dancing, drugs etc.

14th: More Fiesta - Afro again, Promiscuous, Elixir. etc. I haven't seen the full lineup, but I'm sure there will be something along the lines of Chi-Qi (funky instrumental/vocal hiphop), Sekiden (if they don't play both Rowland and Jaymis will cry, and every other indie boy in Bris, we love you Seja), Taxi.. fuckit. I'm tired, and every cool BrisBand you can think of will be there. I'm not intending on sleeping, and niether should you. I'm also hoping to have a digicam by then, because really, this is something that only happens once a year.

After that, well I shall sleep for 3 days, and then see if I can get to Splendour (mmmm, Gomez).

/screaming moment of the day: Just as I close the timeoff gig guide page, what do I come across, but:
JAMIROQUAI Nov 16 BEC
AAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Finally.

Now I can sleep.
