Shot shot:

I've just spent the last two or so hours making some amazingly good loops and beats - the guitar break from Gomez - In Our Gun mixed with Hybrid - Sinequanon - and was actually starting to get all of my samples lined up, my beats coinciding and my drum parts syncing properly when it all crashed. That's two hours I won't see again, but I think it was a useful part of my electronic-music education, which shall be forwarded this afternoon when I go to my first EAS meeting and workshop, hopefully they're going to be able to teach me how to make my synth talk to my computer. Whoo!

Earlier today: Had Jaymis getting up at the mad crazy time of 12:PM and meeting the lovely Emma, Susan and sundries in the Red Room for some pre-Elvis-to-Madonna drinkies. Well everyone else had pre-drinkies. I had a chip. Accompanied the lovely Emma to Elvis. Whoo. It's kinda boring but kinda fun. If this lecturer was about 3% less interesting I think he'd lose a huge chunk of his class, but there's enough cool music clips being played to keep the bums in the seats. Today's (yesterday's) highlight - early James Brown performances. Here is a transcript of my James Brown notes for your viewing pleasure:

James Brown: Shined shoes as a lad. Stole. Mum left @ age 5. Put in jail for armed robbery @ age 16. Played gospel, then changed to rocknroll influences.

Fell over on stage a lot.

Indeed.

Met Lyds at the Ville, and later Tony, who was sporting a new, extremely fast haircut. Faffed around before doing the mosey back to home. Felt tired and useless all afternoon, but was eventually convinced to go to a barbeque @ Carseldine. Excellent choice.

Rose! Aliska! Jane! Nats! (rrowr) Goat! Buffy! Col! (back for a little holiday from the navy) and Many! Other! Fantastical! People! were in attendance. Even though I was taking care of Mr Liver and not drinking I still had an absolute blast. It was lovely to see Rowland drunk off his tree, it's a lovely thing to witness and I heartily recommend it to anyone. Mad props and shout outs must also be go to the huge amount of hugs available from Nats, Jane, Liska and Lyds. With those girls around even the most needy hugger (me) can be satiated.

In other news: It's time for bed. Hurrah. Hope I haven't forgotten anything.

/edit. Oh yeah, that's what I forgot. Listening to the new Gomez album. Holy bloody great gobs of fucking hell, there is some incredible music there. Get it now and play it loud.
