I have just found out through Prohosters' awesome support staff that I can telnet into my new webserver and access my UNIX account. A pig in a five star mud resort has nothing on me. I have terminal windows stacked and connections bouncing all over the world. I even caught myself accidentally talking to my server:
[root@e-smith /root]# ssh -l #### water.4ph.com
bash: ssh: command not found
[root@e-smith /root]# damn
bash: damn: command not found
[root@e-smith /root]#
I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, probably a bad thing in a social sense, but it's good to be able to relate to your machines. I'm sure Asimov said something about always thanking your robots.
What is a good thing is that I now have a workaround for this FTP problem thing, so I can finally upload all the subdomains that I haven't been able to FTP.
Go me.
