Well I just got back from the Naked Chef Show Babyee!!! Damn that man is talented. To all those who think he's a dick (I'm talking to you Merrick and Rosso) you can narf off. He's an absolute legend, and this show just cemented his coolness a bit harder and also reaffirmed the fact that guys who cook are funky shit.

Thanks to Lizzy for taking me, as a very early 21st present (yes, my birthday is in January). I had a blast, and I'm sure she did. The show was really something different. He started off by going into the phone book and ordering pizza from Pizza Hut (to be delivered to a Mr Oliver @ the Lyric Theatre) and then proceeded to race the pizza place in making a pizza from scratch, base dough and all. He beat the delivery girl by a good 5 minutes too, what a trooper.

From there he went on a spastic journey through the kitchen that had been set up for him onstage. Loads of audience participation (pasta making race), a bit of drumming, bit of singing (a song he apparently wrote, about how to cook an awesome curry), bit of stuffing around, lots of talking bullship...

One thing I noticed is that he moves incredibly fast. When you see him on TV it often seems like the action's been sped up a little as everything's going so quickly and he seems to be able to put a dish together in seconds. This isn't a camera trick, this is him in real life. There was a big screen behind him to provide closeups of the action (and humerous interludes as he played with the webcam they were using for onstage filming), and if you looked at the screen without looking at him it really looked like he was sped up. However when you check the actual live human down there he was really moving that quickly.

To round it all off the food he prepared was absolutely stunning. Obviously I didn't get to hook in and try the things he was doing, but the recipes were great, and extremely quick.

Have to go now, Mum and Liz are here to here to take me to the city to meet Lyds and Matt.

In other news: default.ida information - This is a little program which will respond to one of those damn Code Red probes by emailing the admin of the domain from which the probe originated. Damn good idea that. Everyone get this and install it on their webserver so I stop getting damn default.idx probes, they make my server logs look messy.
