Good morning. How are you?

Good morning. How are you? I've had a fantastic night and I thought I'd tell you about it:

After my post yesterday I started watching Memento (which is a fanbloodytastic movie. Everything Swordfish didn't have, it did. Watching that has made me thing about making films again, a thought I havn't entertained for a couple of months) until Dad turned up with a Care Package from Mum, cause I'm broke. Its contents are so cool that I thought I'd share them with you. It's not the "can of baked beans, block of chocolate" that you'd usually expect for a starving offspring:

Fresh vegetable goodness: Potatoes, pumpkin, cauliflower, eggplant, carrots, Jerusalem artichokes, garlic (didn't really need that Mum, you know I've always got fresh garlic)
Vegetable goodness in convenient metal shells: 3 X chick peas, triturato di pomodoro (a.k.a. diced tomatoes)
Starchy stuff: Dried egg linguini, vermicelli, spiral pasta, arborio rice
Animal By-Products: Margaret River baked ricotta, Margaret River vintage cheddar, Tasmanian Heritage Swiss, and Mersey Valley Vintage Club plain ~woohoo~, a dozen eggs
Smells like fish: Jar of Sclafani Anchovies (pretty good ones), 2 tins of normal-boring anchovies, 3 tins of tuna
Food-you-can-just-grab-and-eat: Maxi-bag of Chilli Kettle chips, rice crackers, Just Right, 3 X 2 minute noodles, chicken laksa
Miscellaneousness: 500g tin of Ghee, whole egg mayonnaise
The Clincher: 3 Kaffir lime leaves

You can probably tell why I'm so passionate about food. It's genetic. I think I'm probably the only person in the history of the world whose "Here's some food so you don't have to eat that tin of Spam" package included Kaffir lime leaves. Just in case you don't know, they're used as a flavouring in curries and other middle-eastern foods. Sort of like bay leaves.

Thanks Mum. You made my day.

After Dad and I brought all this stuff (packaged in convenient plastic bags... does her cleverness know no bounds) from the car to my apartment, Dad dropped me to Emmanuel college for band practice. Nobody was there when I arrived (possibly the first time I have ever been early) so I went and left my gear and a love letter in Sabella's room, found Pandy and Batty (snogging in Batty's room) and annoyed them for a while. I played a couple of levels of MDK2 on Batty's computer, drank some Cokes and basically wound myself up into a hyperactive frenzy.

Band went on until about 9-ish (started @ 3pm) including a meal break at the Ville and various stuffing around, having Coke and smoke breaks, waiting for Drummers and Trombone players. Much fun and we polished up one of our new songs and taught Steve the horn lines for some of our older stuff, so he can play his Bass Clarinet rather than standing like a gooben when he's not playing.

Trav dropped me home (yay, thanks Trav). I watched the end of Memento (did I mention that it's a great film) then went to bed.

All good.

Time for food.
