I just came back from Groove Terminator - @ the Monastery, which is like 1/2 a block from here... All good. I can't hear very well. Typing sounds cool. Like I am standing at the top of a canyon and someone it writing furiously at the bottom.
Speaking of writing furiously, that's what I am doing right now, to Belly. This is what I have written, which tells a little "connecting to the internet" story and wrapps my night up:
Jaymis 17/05/20 1:22 AM Hey Belly, you alive?
Jaymis 17/05/20 1:23 AM I just came back from Groove Terminator - @
the Monastery, which is like 1/2 a block from
here... All good.
belly 17/05/20 1:24 AM Scripting unix is not much fun.
Jaymis 17/05/20 1:25 AM Hehehehe, unix. I am trying to learn bits and
peices about Linux at the moment, I'm not very
good at it, but I have a functioning web
server, so I take that as a positive step.
belly 17/05/20 1:26 AM Thats defininately an achievement. Running
Apache?
Jaymis 17/05/20 1:27 AM All sorts of gear. Apache, squid, ummm, other
shit.
Jaymis 17/05/20 1:27 AM I brought it over to Lauren's place, so we can
share Cable. Thinking I was cool I just
brought the box (forgetting that stupid BIOS
needs a kboard to start up)
Jaymis 17/05/20 1:29 AM So I'm like "Y isn't this stupid box loading
up so I can telnet to it throught the network
and make it go."
Had to unplug my monitor to find out that it
was stalled saying "press F1 to continue"
Jaymis 17/05/20 1:30 AM And I didn't have a dumb AT keyboard. and
couldn't gat one @ 1AM
Jaymis 17/05/20 1:30 AM I was a cross James
belly 17/05/20 1:32 AM Indeed. I got a call from the place where i'm
getting my stuff saying, "yeah, we've got
everything except youre CPU, video card and
speaker. what do you want to do?" I would have
thought the obvious answer would be to wait
for them to arrive, given how useless the
other bits of a computer are on their own.
They didn't seem to think so.
Jaymis 17/05/20 1:32 AM Where you getting it from? Cheap? I need cheap
stuff.
