10/4/01 2:36 am - Sonique just caused me its last general protection error - I am changing to WinAmp. Anyone who knows me (and especially Hugh) will be like "Oh my God, James is giving up on the reason for his existance!." Which is sort of true - I have plugged Sonique more than any other program ever made, and defended it through numerous crashes, but this is the last straw. I am oficially switching sides.
The crash goes something like this:
• Add track to Sonique playlist
• Click the "next track button"
(as an aside, I just pressed the "Yes" button on the "This program will uninstall Sonique". Do you want to continue" dialogue box)
• Everything freezes for a moment
• James realises that "It's happening" and sees red
• "Sonique has caused a general protection error in module blah-bla-hexvalue" error message
• Weird screen glitch appears across the top of the screen - like a 10 pixel tall green bar code
• Brace yourself
• Computer TURNS ITSELF OFF without any outside influence by myself or small green demons
Holy shit. That is the worst bug/crash I have ever seen. I am shocked to the core whenever it happens (which is extremely rarely - last time was over three months ago) and this time the shock is just too much to bear.
Sonique gone.
Until version 2 comes out anyway :)
