What I did this week, or cats! How funny are cats.
I've been taking on a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde existance recently. On one hand we have the early-week James, who wakes up sometime around 8am, goes to uni, gets stuff done, geeks it up a bit, hangs out with his family, and is nice to animals. Around wednesday afternoon James is getting a bit worn out, and he will generally have a bit of an afternoon nap.
He wakes up as Jaymis.
Jaymis drinks bourbon while talking online to people who break the law rather often. He wakes up in the afternoon, and stays up really late listening to loud music. Even worse, he doesn't do things that he should do, like... boring stuff. Who cares about that stuff (Saturday night is well within Jaymis time).
This week James:
Went to uni an awful lot.
Drove to Bris with Steph, Haj, Simon and Rachie, to go to a thing, about stuff. Games and stuff. Got to check River and Masayo's new pad as well, and check out foetal soundtrack for the film I'm working on. One word. Four or more letters. Whoo.
Did some underwater filming with a cool camera-on-a-stick. Got some pretty ok imagery considering the amount of time we had to work in, and the fact that I foolishly didn't wear swimming-style clothes. My blue suede blundstones had another case of dye-run, but this time left my pants alone and made my foot blue.
That's about it I think. James is a boring fucker.
This week Jaymis:
Stayed up really late playing Rise of Nations (which is excellent). I really like the 2-people-controlling-one-team thing. I was actually talking to Jum about this very thing a couple of days before we got RON. Only problem is that it doesn't work very well if you're not in constant contact with your teammate.
Made CDs for Cute Girls. 3 Cute Girls to be exact.
Slept. A lot. Slept when sleep wasn't really that necessary. That's a Sin, I'm sure.
Went to the MFP CD launch. The CD for which I assembled album art. The CD of which 500 beautifully printed out copies were 4 fucking days late and didn't even turn up to the launch. Yep.
At the launch I stumbled across one XXXL, slightly soiled Dobba! Whoo! (pictured here on the right, with his goat). I took my own Dobba+Goat (+MattforPleasure to the left) pic, but I hate flash photography, so it sucks.
Anyway. Came across Dobba, who I'd only actually interacted with online before. It was a beautiful meeting. We both had a bit of a moment on the realisation that we were both inhabiting the same physical space, and did the only thing natural for 2 extremely manly men to do on meeting for the first time ever. We had a big manly hug. Aww.
See how badly behaved Jaymis is, he makes close bodily contact with rockstars... Sidenote - P.Lo are recording their new album really soon like, hooray.
Anyway. The launch rocked it out. The album can be purchased for fifteen dodgy-under-the-counter dollars from Butterbeats, or for free if your picture is inside the cover (like mine is, and my kittycat's). Other things that rocked out included getting to see Princess Kayte, Cal, Angry Don and the new EAS exec.
Rocked the TV Production monkey out on Friday morning with my mad VCR operator skillz. Having to cue and display 3 segments on 3 different tapes within about 8 seconds = VCR ninja.
Got home.
Slept some more.
Shell came over. Watched bad movie with Shell.
Slept all day.
Thassall.
For desktop purposes an unreliable wheel is seldom a big deal. But if you want to use your mousewheel to select weapons in a game (for instance), you very probably don't want to be trying to switch from Weapon 11 (Plasma Lawn Edger) to Weapon 12 (Nuclear Gatling Melon Baller), and have it not happen the first time you try. And then try again, only to zip right past 12 and wrap around to Weapon 1 (Hot Marshmallow On A Stick).
(Dan is still good)
Random information that isn't useful:
My mousepad has bloodstains on it. It has had them for a long time, I don't think it's likely that they'll ever go away.
Very soon I am going to make a coaster out of one of those clear not-cds that you get on top of spindles of cds, and either 3 or 4 clear sticky rubber foot thingies.
Some music? Why of course. Getting bored of typing now, so I'll just say: Download this. It sexes it. Hard.
Oh shit I almost forgot the cats. Download this, quickly. Then watch it. Make sure you don't have anything in your mouth while viewing. Jum uploaded this to the pipe newsgroup (which you probably can't access). Jum rocks.
