If you're just read through the above entry then you're probably very much in need of some soothing music. I can't really help you with that right now, because the track I've just uploaded isn't particularly soothing at all.
Ok, so it starts in a manner which could be considered vaguely soothing, if you are soothed by the sounds of a circus winding up to march or somesuch.
It's The Cat Empire - The Crowd. It wasn't in the Hottest 100 so chances are that it hasn't been pimped to death yet and people may not have heard it already. Hurrah.
I discovered this band while listening to Dools' show while driving home at about 3am a couple of weeks ago. He played The Wine Song, which I initially thought was a joke and he was playing a track from some musical.
Well, apparently not. Since then I've discovered that I'd enjoyed several other Cat Empire tracks, but didn't even realise that they were the same band (The Chariot being the worst offender).
Anyway. Download that there track, that's right, move your mouse pointer up a bit you person-who-can't-read-without-using-a-finger-or-other-pointing-device, there, that's right. Clicky clicky. It's almost 8 million bytes, it starts all light and faery-ish. It gets some friends. They bring some friends along. Those friends have instruments. They play those a bit. Almost everyone has a rest.
Then it goes all Hey-Jude-ish, which I really like. It's great. You get to go WAAAAAOW. Bwaahdup. Bwaahbaahdoobeeey, which, well, if I need to tell you how good that kind of thing is then maybe this is more your musical style.
